Happy Living Unscripted is not just a brand; it's a transformative movement. At its core, it is dedicated to empowering, mentoring, and coaching people to step outside their comfort zones and confidently navigate a journey without fear—a journey that may lie beyond outdated societal norms.
Happy Living Unscripted was created by Sima Reid, a lifelong entrepreneur who challenged societal norms by owning and operating a business in the financial services sector—an industry traditionally dominated by men. This did not impact her success. Today, women and men face a rapidly changing world filled with both unprecedented opportunities and significant challenges. While some things have changed, others have not. Societal norms often place immense pressure on people to follow a predetermined path—whether in education, career, or personal life. The realities of an unpredictable job market, social media influence, and evolving cultural expectations may create uncertainty, stress, and self-doubt.
The weight of comparison, the expectation that success will happen quickly, and the fear of stepping outside our comfort zones can hold us back from discovering our true potential.

The colorful bracelets of Happy Living Unscripted are more than just accessories—they’re symbols of stepping outside my comfort zone and embracing creativity in unexpected ways. Each one represents a journey of growth, resilience, and the courage to try something new. Coming from a long career in financial services, designing and creating these bracelets was a personal challenge—one that reflects the very heart of my message: true joy and fulfillment come when we stretch beyond the familiar.
This spirit of living unscripted has also inspired the Happy Living Unscripted Artist Event Series—intimate, heartfelt gatherings where artists share their work in a welcoming, community-driven environment. Just like the bracelets, these events are about self-expression, connection, and the beauty of taking creative risks.
Whether it’s through wearable art or curated showcases of local talent, my goal is to encourage others to step into the unknown, express their passions, and find meaning in the process. There are so many people who inspire us to push past our own limitations—and when we create space for art, expression, and each other, we open the door to real, lasting change.
Sarah Blakely built Spanx from the ground up, transforming the shapewear industry despite having no prior experience in fashion or business. What about Todd Graves, the founder of Raising Cane's? Raising Cane's has over 800 restaurants in the US and internationally. Graves was inspired by a business plan he wrote in college—which reportedly received a low grade. He worked various jobs to raise funds to start the first restaurant, including working in the oil fields in California and as a commercial fisherman in Alaska.
As our world continues to change gender dynamics is putting pressure on some women and men.
Many women have worked hard to change workplace dynamics. In some fields, women are outpacing men in education and job attainment; however, there is still a lack of overall equality between men and women.
In 2023, the WBC Benchmark Survey by Pitchbook reported that only 2.1% of VC funding went to women. According to the Los Angeles Business Journal (October 7, 2024), only eight women are running the largest private companies. The Associated Press reported on October 16, 2024, that women working full-time earned 83 cents on the dollar compared to men in 2023.
Even though the Pew Research Center survey from April 2024 found that 81% of Americans believe the gains women have made in society have not come at the expense of men, the change in societal norms has impacted our way of life.
Traditional gender roles are evolving as some women prioritize career advancement.
Some men struggle with the societal shift away from traditional male provider roles. Many believe these challenges and changes are impacting long-term relationships.
I WOULD LIKE TO EMBRACE CHANGE AND HELP PEOPLE NAVIGATE THE NEW WORLD.
Mentorship is a powerful way to help people navigate these challenges, build confidence, embrace new opportunities, and step outside their comfort zones. By providing guidance, encouragement, and real-world insight, mentors can help people develop resilience, adaptability, and the courage to take risks.
